NEWS AND UPDATES

January 01, 2022

In 2014, this website was placed on an inactive status due primarily to the need to focus on the federal government’s contemptuous, but understandable, effort to put an end to We The People’s epic struggle to restore the Rights of the People and the obligations of the Government under the Petition Clause of the First Amendment and to institutionalize citizen vigilance.

In addition, the organization had suffered the loss of Michael Bodine, it’s beloved IT practitioner who passed suddenly at age 53.

The struggle to shift the ultimate power in our society from the government back to the People where it was intended to reside in the first place is indeed epic — now in its 23rd year and marked by plenty of action and difficulties.

We are back!

We are focused exclusively on holding Government accountable to the provisions of our Charters of Freedom – i.e., our Declaration of Independence, and our amended Constitutions, the New York State Constitution and the United States Constitution.

We intend to institutionalize citizen vigilance – the practice of monitoring Government policy and programs, from the State down through our Counties, Cities, Towns, Villages and School Districts and challenging the Government when it steps outside the boundaries the People have drawn around its power by those provisions.

We believe actions speak louder than words.

As expressed in our Certificate of Incorporation, we rely on the exercise and enforcement of our Right to Petition the Government for Redress of Grievances, a natural Right guaranteed by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and Article I of the Constitution for the State of New York.

For the meaning of the Right to Petition we rely on its historical record which teaches in part that with every Right there is a Remedy and any Right that is not enforceable is not a Right.

Our Charters of Freedom are all about power – between the People and the Government. The Government in New York State has gotten too big for its britches. It has stepped outside the boundaries the People have drawn around its power, taking possession of a boundless field of power.

We need a significant shift in the ultimate power in our society, from the Government to the People where it was intended to reside in the first place.

The path forward requires the courage of our convictions.

OUR PLAN

As Jefferson warned, “No Government can continue good except under the control of the People.”

In sum, the goal of our Plan is to bring the Government in New York State back under the control of the People and their Charters of Freedom.

Our Plan includes 9 Regional and 62 County Coordinators, hundreds of trained Constitutional Monitors, a fully staffed Citizen Vigilance Center and an “army” – – a critical mass of supporting members, who stand ready to put a collective foot down, engaging in non-violent civic action when called upon to do so in the wake of Government’s refusal to provide a meaningful response to a proper Petition for Redress of its violation of the Rule of Law.

Under our Plan, our first order of business will be aimed at getting civics education added to the curriculum at our public schools. We will Petition for Redress of Government’s violation of Section 801.2 of the State Education Law which reads:

2. The regents shall prescribe courses of instruction in the history, meaning, significance and effect of the provisions of the constitution of the United States, the amendments thereto, the declaration of independence, the constitution of the state of New York and the amendments thereto, to be maintained and followed in all of the schools of the state. The boards of education and trustees of the several cities and school districts of the state shall require instruction to be given in such courses, by the teachers employed in the schools therein.  All pupils attending such schools, in the eighth and higher grades, shall attend upon such instruction.

This law, passed in the 1940s has never been followed.

The current Social Studies curriculum gives scant attention to the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution and does not mention the NY State Constitution.

Consequently, rising generation after generation are not anchored to our fundamental principles of liberty and freedom through limited government and equal justice for all and would not know when the Government has stepped outside the boundary drawn around its power.

This must change: it’s up to We The People; the hour is late.
